Tonight (Friday) at 6:30pm, The Columbus School for Girls will be holding their Jazz at Jubilee, full of fun, food and music. Shop ’til you drop and snack on light hors d’oeuvres to benefit the CSG Scholars Fund. Admission is free.

Not exactly local, but I for one know that the Polish Festival in Cleveland is definitely worth the drive, if only for the great authentic Polish food that unfortunately can’t be had easily in Columbus. More ‘rogies than you can shake a stick at, plus stuffed cabbage and cabbage with noodles. Yum. October 6 to October 8 at the St. Stanislaus Social Center at 6601 Baxter Ave in Cleveland. If you prefer to stay local, this weekend is also the North Market Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 7th. Tons of fall produce and activities for probably one of the last farmer’s markets of the season. For more information, call the North Market at 614-463-9664.

Saturday night is Gallery Hop night in the Short North, and with Gallery Hop comes wine tasting at Europia. 2-11pm, no sign up required. Taste high-end wines for $2 each. Call 614-460-3000 for more information.

On Sunday, October 8, “Unwind with Smooth Jazz during Sunday Brunch presented by Crestview Cadillac and C.V.Perry…”above and beyond.” Stop by between 10AM-2PM at the Polaris Grill (1835 Polaris Parkway) located on the southeast side of the I-71/Polaris Parkway exit. Smooth Jazz will broadcast live and feature the smooth sounds of Kim Pensyl & the Smooth Jazz Trio. The brunch buffet features eggs, bacon, made-to-order omelets, belgian waffles, roast beef, poached salmon, ham, turkey, peel & eat shrimp, salads and an array of desserts. On Thursday, October 12, the Taste of Gahanna will be held at the Aladdin Shrine Complex at 3850 Stelzer Rd at 6pm. “This event allows you to sample cuisine from the finest restaurants in the Gahanna area.
