Halloween is upon us in the upcoming week, and the Dispatch has published a list of Halloween events going on around town this week. There’s something on this list for everyone, so make your plans now. :) Also, be sure to check out the trick or treat times and free Halloween parties for your part of town. Alternatively, you can head to a pumpkin patch this weekend.

Boo! on Broadway. Stroll through downtown Grove City where costumed merchants will pass out goodies to trick-or-treaters. Make it an alternative to your trick-or-treat route — or do both; 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 along Broadway (closed to traffic), Grove City. Cost: free. Kids Halloween Party — Get into the trick-or-treat spirit at the North Market, where vendors will pass out goodies to visitors. Don’t miss the storytelling, bounce house, face-painting, balloontwisting and other fun offerings; noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 29 at the North Market, 59 Spruce St. Cost: free. Fall Frolic — You’ll have no shortage of things to see and do here, including magicians, jugglers, balloon artists and a kid-friendly haunted house (recommended for ages 6 to 12, additional fee). There also will be live music, food, pumpkin decorating and a costume contest. What are you waiting for?; 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 on the square in uptown Marysville (at Main and 5th streets). Cost: free. Pumpkin Fest — Dawes Arboretum, 7770 Jacksontown Rd., Newark. An Afternoon of Fall Fun, haywagon ride, roasting marshmallows, spooky tales, autumn crafts. Noon-4 p.m. Oct. 28, $10. Meet at Visitors Center; 740-323-2355 or 1-800-44-DAWES (932937).

8th Annual Fall Fest –Slate Run Metro Park, 1375 Rt. 74 N., Canal Winchester, Buzzard’s Roost picnic area. Hayrides, giant leaf pile, pumpkin carving, games, tree identification, tram rides, animals and more; 2-6 p.m. Oct. 29. Music by Lews Brothers at 2:30 p.m.; 614-891-0700.

Trunk or Treat –St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Rd., Dublin; a safe, fun and not-so-scary alternative to going door-to-door, dinner will be served (hot dogs, chips, drinks), 4:30-7 p.m. Oct. 29; free; 614-889-2284.
