Becke, I am very glad to learn of you and your blog! Steve Bosserman of Columbus, Ohio leads the Social Agriculture working group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/socialagriculture/ (you're welcome to join!) at my Minciu Sodas http://www.ms.lt laboratory for serving and organizing independent thinkers. He's an agricultural knowledge broker and interested that we organize independent thinkers in the Columbus area, especially regarding the business opportunites that localization brings when local food, green architecture, renewable energy and community organizing come together. We'll be chatting at our chatroom http://www.worknets.org/chat/ on Thursday, August 16, 2007, at 11:30 am Columbus time. I hope we might connect then or some time! Andrius Kulikauskas

Our markets are so different here... no little punts full of veg.- they're much more like a supermarkets - except in supermarkets you get to pick your own produce... at the 'farmer's markets' you tell them what you want and they choose...

It's been suggested that eating spicy (hot) food makes it easier to endure hot weather ... but that could just be one of those urban legends.

I'm just shocked at the prices on the peppers!
