TWD: La Palette’s Strawberry Tart

I was really looking forward to this week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe, as it is exactly the right time of year to make a strawberry tart – the berries are out in spades (and they’re especially lovely this year), and this recipe puts the berries front and center where they belong. The tart crust is on the hard/crumbly side, but works well to hold up the weight of the berries. For the preserves, I used some strawberry jam that I canned last year. After cutting it, I served it with some home made whipped cream. Delicious.

Next week’s TWD recipe is Peppermint Cream-Puff Ring. I think I’ll be sitting next week out, as I don’t think I’d get any takers for that one here in my house. I’m looking forward to see how it turns out for everyone else, though.
