This week’s edition of Tuesdays with Dorie featured scones - cheddar apple scones. I don’t normally like scones very much, but these were pretty darn good. Not too sweet or savory, kind of in between.
I couldn’t find cider, so I subbed apple juice. My only other problem with the recipe is that the time called for in the recipe (22 minutes) is far too long - mine were already really dark and done at 18 minutes.
The insides came out perfectly, nice and tender, and especially delicious when still hot. I would probably make these again. For the recipe, check out Dorie Greenspan’s Baking, From My Home to Yours.
