I missed out on the Saturday Farmer's markets, since I was having a garage sale on Saturday, but I did hit the new location of the Pearl Alley Growers Market downtown, at the corner of Nationwide & High. It is only a block from my work. It had a pretty good selection, except no berries or melons of any kind. But, since I am a little berried out already, I didn't mind.

Being from Grove City originally, I had never gone to their Farmer's market until last year. I went there quite a few times. Late July and August, you can get quite a lot of produce and herbs. However, I don't recall seing any eggs or a good selection of meat. I am heading there this Saturday, though, after the N. Market and Worthington, to meet up with some friends who still live down there.

Marvelous-looking produce! We got our usual CSA share this Saturday: 1 bag mesclun lettuce, 1 bag baby arugula, 1 head chinese cabbage, 2 lbs zucchini, 1 kolrabi, 2 cucumbers, 1 bunch kale, 1 nunch green and purple basil, 1 dozen eggs, 1 quart cherries, 1 pint blueberries, 1 bouquet sunflowers. As always, I spent Saturday afternoon planning out how to use everything up!

We went to our local farmers market at Jefferson Township Community Park, on Clark State Rd in Blacklick. They had a nice selection of vendors with produce, baked goods, the creamery and alpacas and their products. We didn't go until 10AM, since my hubby thought thats when they opened, and they were already busy. This is a 9-12 market. Beautiful tomatoes from a vendor in Marion, green beans, Lodi apples, squash, cabbage, peas and the like. A bread baker...yummy, cookies, breads, cinnamon rolls and gourmet goodies. No pies this time, unless they were already gone. Herbs and flowers also available. The lady ahead of me bought the herbs I wanted. Should of gone earlier. I bought some great looking tomatoes, cucumbers and some very tasty Blueberry, Chocolate Chip Bars. Can't wait until next Saturday. I'm going at 9:00 next week!
