Ever since my old favorite Martini completely changed their menu I've been on the lookout for a new Italian fave in town--sounds like this one might be a winner!

Since I can't find your original comment here to respond to, Chris.

You asked about my credentials - I have a bit of experience in food service, I love to cook, and I love to eat. I'm a customer, who has certain expectations of a meal that I'm paying good money for. I also happen to make my living, in part, by writing about those experiences. And, for what it's worth, I'm taken seriously by people who are restaurant owners, journalists, restaurant related professional organizations and others. I'd like to think that I've built my credibility on the back of my reviews, and because of that, I stand by them. I stand by my review of Louie's - their food is fantastic, even better than Starliner's. But of course, if your base of culinary knowledge centers around that epicenter of culinary greatness (not!), the OSU campus...(kidding).

Just looking at the pictures I posted above disprove your claims about golf ball sized bread and 2 tablespoons of beans. YOU may not have liked it, but the same doesn't hold true of myself or the majority of people who have eaten there. Own up to your own culinary preferences, and if you disagree so greatly with my review, post your experience on Yelp or Urbanspoon, or better yet, start your own food blog.

And pointing out someone's spelling errors is gauche. Really. So I'm not going to harp on your misspelling of "swampkitty" in your original comment. ;-P

Ive been back there 3 times over as many weeks, and i dont see it. The tables are always dirty, the wait staff isnt friendly, all the food is mushy, and the "fusion" part of it is off-par. The Machaca with Eggs is the worst...to much going on...all you taste are spices, and it looks like vomit. My wife tried the Mofongo Stuffed Chicken Breast, and the chicken was dry and chewy. The Roast Pork with Green Salsa was another mess...nothing but a big mush, with flavors that fight each other. Everything is expensive too...$3.50 for a salad!
The Mofongo Stuffed Chicken Breast is $11 with 2 table spoons of beans, and a piece of bread smaller than a golf ball. Come on...Swapkiity05, I dont know what your credentials are, but Ive been in the Columbus culinary scene for 48 years, and this stuff just aint good.

We went to Louie's Grill tonight - it's just as good as you say. The Chipotle Crab soup was wonderful!

And the nice thing about the location is if people do have to travel, it's not that far off the highway to be able to grab a meal. Great review! We're definitely going to have to try it out soon!

P.S.For some reason the comments wouldn't let my url through. I'm guessing because I don't use a "www" and it thinks that's weird.

I love fried plantains. They are the perfect accompaniment to Cuban black beans and rice. You get the savory, plus a little sweet.

From what I understand (when talking to Amanda, our server) it was sometime last year he left Starliner, and opened the new place in February.
